Camuy Caves and Arecibo Observatory
Our Shuttle leads you into the Rio de Camuy Caves Park. You will be lead by a specialist in the field as you descend into the depths of a million year old cave. Later you will be heading to the Arecibo Observatory, the largest radar/radio telescope on earth. Here, scientists from all over the world use a joint 305 meter diameter dish to listen to the universe. This shuttle is provided to the passengers as a transfer. There will be no refund for any cancellations that may be imposed by the Rio de Camuy Park Administration. We are not responsible for interruptions that may occur.
El Yunque Rain Forest | It takes 45 minutes to reach El Yunque National Forest. In the "Rain Forest" the bus will stop at La Coca waterfall, the Yocahu Tower (1575 feet above sea level), then the driver will lead you to the Palo Colorado Trail. Here, you will be granted 20 minutes to walk the trail from the upper to the lower level, easily and effortlessly. Along the side of the roads you will be able to see some of the predominant species of trees like Ausubos, Yagrumos, Magnolia Splendens, Almond Trees, Mango Trees, and Breadfruit Trees. Giant Sierra Tree ferns, matrix ferns, termite nests. Impatiens, hibiscuses, ginger lilies, hellicons. Bromeliads will be hooked on tree trunks. Watch for lizards. | | Listen to El Coqui Frog. Find the nesting boxes for the Amazon Parrot of Puerto Rico. Eye hunt for the Puerto Rican Todies and Reinitas. If it rains, do not be surprised. Normally it rains shortly, intensively, torrentially and then it stops. No climbing and hiking is ever allowed due to algae and moss on the surface of rocks. | Rain Forest and Luquillo Beach The extended tour allows you to enjoy two hours to swim at Luquillo Beach. Bring your towel and bathing suit.
Until your "Sunshine" tour of the Puerto Rican Rain Forest (El Yunque) and Luquillo beach, we had actually never been on a tour before. We have always just wandered around on our own wherever we have traveled to. With that said, I am so happy that I decided to sign us up for a tour with your company. It was really fantastic and not anything like I'd expected (boring tour guide, limited time in places). The information about Puerto Rico that Richard gives is really valuable as only a true Puertorican could know all those things. "Ilene Wood and Lee Nydegger, December 2007 |
